I believe this company makes a few different types of snack bars. The one that I tasted this afternoon was cranberry almond + antioxidants. The bar boasts itself as being "gluten free", "wheat free", "low glycemic index (53)", "3 grams of fiber", "Non GMO", "No Trans fat", and "Dairy/Cholesterol free". One might think "What's left" and "What does this bar taste like without any of the above ingredients? What remains is: Almonds, dried cranberries (cranberries, sugar, sunflower oil), macadamias, honey, non GMO glucose, puffed rice, chicory fiber, soy lecithin and 50% of DV antioxidants A, C, and E.
Vitamins: Vitamin A Acetate, Ascorbic Acid (Vit C), D-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E).
I really enjoyed the crunchy almonds and macadamias. The cranberries and honey give it a nice chewy texture. It was sweet, but not "too sweet" and it also satisfied my "crunch" desire. I had come home after class and was snacking with no relief. Once I had this bar I was finally satisfied. Either it was because of the almonds and vitamins that I finally fed my body, or perhaps it was because the Kind bar was the last thing I ate. I will know more when I have this snack bar first. I hope that it does fill me up. I have seen other Kind snack bars at the store in different flavors. I will update this post once I try them. I highly recommend this snack bar for many reasons: 1) it taste really good, 2) it has a nice mix of sweet and crunchy, 3) it is vegan and pareve....which means no "meat" or "dairy", 4) Low glycemic index (perhaps it could even make the "South Beach" approved snacks in phase 2 or 3?, 5) The Kind bar also promotes "not so random acts of kindness". More info on their website: www.Kindsnacks.com/world.
Other flavors I have tried are: Peanut butter and dark chocolate+protein. The bar had 7 grams of protein, 200 cals, 18% saturated fat. I didn't like it as much as the cranberry bar. It tasted a lot like peanut butter.
Dark Chocolate + Cherry cashew. I liked the flavors on this bar....the dark chocolate and cherry. It was a nice sweet blend. It also had 50% of DV antioxidants. Protein 4g, cals 180, fat 14%.
The Kind bar could be found at CVS, Walgreens, and other drug stores. It costs about $2.00.
