The self description is: "made with real sweet potatoes, these chips have a sweet, subtle, and satifying flavor."

What I like about these chips is the subtelety of the sweet potato flavor. They are mixed with stone ground corn and so it is just a hint of sweet potato flavor. It is not a deep sweet potato flavor. However, they are light, crisp, and addicting. They would be amazing with a mango salsa, or as the bag suggests: cinnamon, fruit salsa, raspberry jam, and apple butter.

This company also puts out several other types of chips. Olive, Multigrain, Lime, Blue Corn and Jalapeno.

These are high end and you can taste the high quality ingredients that have went into each chip.

Sea's Gift

Roasted Seaweed Snack. The self description on the package describes itself as " A delectable treat that's harvested from the sea and is made from traditional methods for an unmistakable taste!" It's 100% free of iodine. All Natural. No MSG. No Sugar. It is Vegan Approved and Gluten Free.

This product is rich in minerals and vitamins....while remaining a low cal snack ...

The suggestions on the label include:

(1) Enjoy with your favorite rice/sushi dish
(2) As a topping on your favorite soup
(3) Try it on anything...even on pizza

I bought this product at Whole Foods. It looked very interesting to me. I kept it in my back pack and labeled it as "emergency food". I looked at it many times and then finally one day the emergency came along. I was studying for many hours and the cafeteria had closed and I had eaten all my other snacks and it was "Sea's Gift" or starve. I opened the package and found very thin strips of seaweed. They were paper thin. My first bite was "this is interesting". They were a bit salty and tasted like the sea. I was wondering if I would eat more. I set them aside but my hunger took over.....and I started to eat them as if they were potato chips. Except they were much thinner....paper thin....and very crispy. They had a nice crunch to them and my palate definitely placed the taste sensation into the category of "sushi". The thin papers tasted like Nori, or the paper that hand rolls are wrapped in except that the Nori is much thicker.

I started to think of all the things I could do with this product.
Well, I thought I could make some cute appetizers.....the seaweed sheets come in cute little rectangle shapes.....so I thought I could add some tofutti, thin slices of avocado, and perhaps salmon on top. I think it would make a very interesting and tasty appetizer. Also, I thought of just crumbling the rectangles and putting them on top of something....like a nice bowl of noodles....or even a salad.

As of the time of this writing I have not had time to fully experiment. However, I do highly recommend this product. In place of potato chips or pretzels....it's a great nutritious snack.....
